"I think we all have a little voice inside us that will guide us.  It may be God, I don't know.
But I think that if we shut out all the noise and

                 clutter from our lives and listen to

                                    that voice, it will tell us the

                                                     right thing to do."

 Massage & Body Work By Megan in Monument craniosacral therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a bodywork treatment modality that uses light touch to optimize the flow of your cerebrospinal fluid by facilitating release of restrictions deep within your body, thus creating room for you to move towards optimum health and wellness.  The optimized flow of your cerebrospinal fluid has a direct impact on your central nervous system from which all other anatomical systems arise, thus making craniosacral therapy an amazing tool to support your body as it remembers to relax and self-correct.  It is an amazing alternative healing modality that was developed in the field of Osteopathic Medicine.  It is the modality that I choose to use in my own journey.  It is effective for all ages:  newborn to elderly simply because it involves such a gentle touch.

As a client you will remain fully clothed and lay face up on a padded treatment table in comfortable, professional surroundings.  With very light touch, Megan  will follow the rhythmic flow of your cerebrospinal fluid, which can be palpated at various places around your body because of its intricate web of fascia.  Fascia covers everything inside your body and because of that, is a conduit for any trained therapist to monitor the craniosacral rhythm, pinpoint restrictions and facilitate release.

By using very light manual techniques, the craniosacral therapist will support your body as it releases restrictions. As a client, you may or may not feel the release.  Sometimes clients report feeling their body throwing off heat in a particular area, or they report a sense of tissues in a particular area softening, or they feel a strange pulsing sensation.  All are signs that your body is doing exactly what it needs to do to move towards optimum health and wellness.

You may choose to see a craniosacral therapist for any number of reasons, varying from relief from physical symptoms to just wanting help because you are feeling stuck with life.  All are great reasons to commit to a series of craniosacral therapy sessions.

Craniosacral Therapy helps relieve pain, illness and dysfunction within the body, including but not limited to the following:

     *   ADD/ADHD
     *   Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
     *   Central Nervous System Disorders
     *   Chronic Fatigue
     *   Chronic Neck and Back Pain
     *   Fibromyalgia
     *   Infant and Childhood Disorders
     *   Learning Disabilities
     *   Migraines and Headaches
     *   Motor Coordination Impairments
     *   Orthopedic Problems
     *   Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
     *   Scoliosis
     *   Stress and Tension Related Disorders
     *   TMJ Syndrome
     *   and many other conditions

A Craniosacral Therapy Session takes an hour.  The therapist will follow the lead of your body and support you the entire session.  A craniosacral therapist may use tools such as a 10-step protocol, a CV-4 induced still point, a cranial base release, SomatoEmotional release techniques, or any variety of additional craniosacral therapy techniques.  Through the entire craniosacral therapy session, Megan will follow your lead and by using light touch, gentle manipulation and engaging you in conversation when necessary, will simply support you as your body releases restrictions.  Trust that whatever you experience during a session is okay and will be exactly what your body is ready and able to do.  Some clients, after a series of craniosacral therapy sessions, have dramatic shifts and notice feeling light and ready to step up and out into the world.  Others, after a single session of craniosacral therapy work, leave feeling calm and genuinely relaxed:  more than they have felt with any other treatment.  Others may leave a craniosacral therapy session having owned a part of themselves they had no idea they stepped aside from years ago and may have some raw emotions hitting them in waves, but even so, fell lighter and happier.  Others feel a relief of symptoms after craniosacral therapy.  Some clients report that craniosacral therapy supported a shift in their beliefs, behavior and actions.  Your experience will be entirely your own.  The goal of any craniosacral therapist is to follow the lead of your body and support you as your mind and body move toward your optimum wellness.  When you are well, you are able to step up and share your unique gifts with the world, and the world grows.

We have all heard that our bodies are miracles in motion.  Craniosacral therapy helps you begin to 'get' that.  As you feel your body respond to the the light touch it often times is as if you feel it screaming out, "YES!  Look here!  I am a warehouse of information!  Pay attention!"  Your curiosity grows and you not only begin to heal, but grow.

Craniosacral Therapy helps you slow down, step away from the driving pace of our current life, and tune into the magic of your body and mind.  Who would have thought that the answers you seek, the drive you are looking for, or what may be triggering your symptoms lies innately protected within the intricate web of fascia of your body.  Explore your body, trigger your mind, and access your heart and soul.  Add Craniosacral Therapy to your wellness routine.
